PUCG wins Laurels at 2015 PUSAG GAMES |
The Presbyterian University College, Ghana has for the first time won laurels at the just ended Private Universities Association of Ghana (PUSAG) Games festival held at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Paa Joe Stadium-Kumasi.
[Also Read] NUGS raised 30,000ghc to start Scholarship Scheme for ChildrenThe Annual Games and Entertainment Festival brought together sportsmen and women from Private universities to battle for honours in various sporting disciplines. The sports festival under the administration of Hon. Mohammed Adams(the President of Pusag) took place between 24th and 27th March, 2015.
Owing to the aptness in preparation for the sports festival, the 86 man contingent from PUCG recorded unprecedented successes in the sporting events. PUCG recorded the following feats in the under listed sporting disciplines:
1st position Men handball
1st position Women 400mm
1st position Women 200mm
2nd position Men Triple jump
2nd position Women High Jump
2nd position Men Long Jump
2nd position Women Discus
2nd and 3rd position Women 800mm
3rd position Women Long Jump
3rd position Men Football
3rd position Women Football
3rd position Women Basketball.
The President of the University, Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Adow Obeng expressed his gratitude to the team for their exemplary sportsmanship and also for making the school proud. The President made the remark when he was presented with the trophies by the team during a meeting with the student body.
