The 2014/2015 Advanced Public Relations class donated a brand new 3-in-1 HP M277n colour LaserJet PRO printer and 2 boxes of A4 sheets to the Communications Department of Central University, Miotso campus.

The donation is as a result of a public relations campaign objective undertaken by the group in June, 2015. The campaign which was dubbed: “F” THE BRAIN (Feed the brain), was a student-led initiative as part of an academic requirement to gain practical knowledge and experience in public relations.

The students' PR campaign activities also yielded funds used to procure the printer for the Department. According to Miss Peace Mensah, leader of the class group, the donation will augment student support services at the departmental level. It is envisaged that students of the Department would be able to use the printer to print assignments and other academic works at a much lower rate.

She reiterated; "This is a token of the legacy we leave for the Department following our learning in public relations practice. We hope that this donation will save students the trouble of queuing just to print assignments outside of the Department."

In an appreciation response, the head of Department, Dr. Ransford Antwi expressed his gratitude to the group. “Thank you for a good work done and for giving back to the department. We are grateful.”

The group are final year students and the second batch to soon graduate from the Communication Studies Department.

This is the second time the department has received a donation from the Communication Studies student body. Last semester, the Communication Student Association (COMSA) donated an aluminium glass notice board to the Department.
