AWCON 2016 - Nigeria's Super Falcons Draw Ghana, Mali

The Super Falcons of Nigeria have been drawn against their arch-rival, the Black Queens of Ghana, in the preliminary round of the 10th Africa women Cup of Nations (AWCON) billed for Cameroon.

In the draws conducted on Sunday at the Palais Polyvalent des Sports, Yaounde, Nigeria will also be facing the duo of Kenya and Mali in Group B of the football showpiece.

Meanwhile, Group A will house hosts Cameroon, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Egypt.

The top two teams from the preliminary stages will qualify for the knockout phase of the competition.

As stated by organisers, the opening game will take place between Cameroon and Egypt at the Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo.

Nigeria will open their campaign against Mali at the Stade Municipal de Limbe.

The Super Falcons now handled by Florence Omagbemi are the reigning champions and will be gunning for a record eighth African women's title.

The AWCON 2016 will run from November 19 through December 3.
