Accra Polytechnic: Collaborates with more chinese universities

Accra Polytechnic has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) in what will see the two institutions have a mutually beneficial relationship over the next few years.

The MOU was signed recently at Accra Polytechnic during a working visit by officials of UESTC to Ghana for the purposes of collaboration.

When the MOU becomes functional, the two institutions will exchange students, faculty, collaborate in research development and curriculum development and also jointly organize conferences, seminars, academic interactive sessions and professional development programmes.

Other areas of collaboration will include exchange of academic materials and published information; provision of exchange internship opportunities for qualified students of the two institutions; and the joint supervision of post graduate projects and thesis.

The visiting delegation comprised of UESTC’s Director of School of

International Relations, Professor Di Aiying; Dean, School of Information and Software Engineering, Professor Qin Zhiguang; Deputy Director, Office of Teaching Affairs, Professor Yu Mei; and Head, School of International Education, Ms. Lin Min.

Professor Sylvester Achio, Rector, was very grateful to the delegation for their willingness to collaborate with Accra Polytechnic.

The MOU brings to seven, the total number of Universities in China that Accra Polytechnic is collaborating with.

Currently, a number of staff of Accra Polytechnic are pursuing their PhDs in some Chinese institutions as a result of such collaborations.
