According to GhanaCelebrities.com, the award-winning actress says she will never submit her movies to be considered for an award in the Ghana Movie Awards since the entire awards scheme is a scam and a family and friends affair.
According to the report, Yvonne Okoro said this in an interview with Giovani Caleb at Live FM whiles she was there to promote her new movie ‘Ghana Must Go’. She said she has made this decision because she doesn’t think this act of sharing the awards among friends by the organizers will ever change.
She went on to share her past experience at the 2010 Ghana Movie Awards when she won the best actress but had to share the same award with two different people. She asked, “which awards honors two or more people at the same time?”
The actress also mentioned that she has complained and spoken to Fred Nuamah, the CEO of the awards scheme about how to make things right and even better but Fred doesn’t seem to want to change things.
