Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Vodafone, a national telecommunications company in Ghana at the Council Chamber on 22nd July, 2016. The contractual agreement aims at Vodafone planting cell sites on campus, the provision and maintenance of Wi-Fi and internet connectivity around the Faculty area.

Miss Angela Mensah-Poku, head of Vodafone Business Solutions (VBS), was pleased that Vodafone had signed the MoU with KNUST to strengthen the collaboration between the two parties. She believed that this fourteen million Ghana cedi (GHC 14,000,000) project would pave the way for contractual partnerships with other universities in Ghana. She hoped that the collaboration would lead to other projects.

Professor William Otoo Ellis, Vice Chancellor of KNUST, on behalf of management, expressed his gratitude to Vodafone. He commended the company for their tremendous effort to provide and maintain internet connectivity across the Faculty area of campus. He also applauded them for recruiting students from the university for internship programmes in their company. He stated that the project would go a long way to support teaching, learning and research in the university. He hoped that the existing relationship between Vodafone and the university would be strengthened through excellent service delivery for the mutual benefit of both parties.
