Baba Rahman scores debut goal, Wakaso sees red in Europa League

Baba Rahman scored his debut goal for Schalke 04 as the Royal Blues posted a slim 1-0 win over OGC Nice at the Allianz Riviera in France.

Rahman capped a sterling performance with a goal to secure maximum points for the German outfit. The Chelsea loanee collected a clever pass from Max Meyer before smashing it past Nice goalkeeper Cardinale.

Meanwhile, Mubarak Wakaso was given his marching orders after receiving two yellow cards in Panathinaikos's surprise 2-1 defeat at the hands of Ajax in Greece. Wakaso picked up his first yellow card in the 62nd minute before receiving the second in stoppage time.

Ghana international Frank Acheampong lasted the entire duration as Anderlecht cruised to a 3-1 home win over FK Qabala. Youngster Emmanuel Sowah was unused by Anderlecht coach Rene Weiler.

Manchester United suffered another set back as they slumped to a shocking 1-0 defeat at Feyenoord without Timothy Fosu-Mensah. Mensah is yet to feature for the English giants this campaign.

Striker Patrick Twumasi came off the bench in the 57th minute for FK Astana who lost 2-1 at Cypriot side Apoel Nicosia. Italian side Sassuolo spanked Spanish side Athletic Bilbao 3-0 at the Stadio Città del Tricolore in Reggio Emilia with Ghana midfielder Alfred Duncan coming off the bench in the 74th minute.

Bilbao handed a starting role to Iñaki Willians but lasted 54 minutes as he was replaced by Markel Susaeta. Ghanaian midfielder Bernard Kumordzi warmed the bench as Genk lost 3-2 at Rapid Wien.
