A 19-year-old International student of the University Of Ghana, Amma Fordjour has taken an initiative to raise funds for Future Leaders UCC, a charity organization in Accra that provides opportunities for underprivileged children.

Amma Fordjour , a first generation American to two Ghanaian parents and a third year student of University of Redlands but currently studying chemistry at the University of Ghana as an educational exchange student of the council on international and educational exchange (CIEE) at the International Programs Office of the University Of Ghana, took an initiative to raise funds to support the underprivileged at future leaders in Accra.

Future Leaders UCC, is a charity organization founded by Billa Mahmud eighteen years ago under a mango tree after noticing that there were a large number of street children in Accra who were not in schools. Amma Fordour on her trip to future leaders started her project to raise funds for these children by donating 1 Ghana cedi (0.25USD) to support each child’s education and housing. see www.gofundme.com/futureleadersaccra

Speaking to Univers News she stated;

These children are absolutely brilliant and deserve a proper education. A small contribution goes a long way. Please donate, tell your friends and families and keep these children in your prayers. Help spread the word!

However, Amma is spending her semester abroad in Ghana to get familiar with her roots and spend time with her family. She is also a graphic/visual artist and lyricist who had to quit two of her jobs to become a full time artist.
