| Face of GUPS 2016 |
The Ghana Union of Professional Students (GUPS) is set to organize its maiden pageant show dubbed Face of GUPS 2016 on 20th August, 2016. See the Contestants pictures below:
Participating institutions will include:
- Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ),
- Ghana Institute of Languages (Accra and Kumasi),
- JAYEE University,
- Institute of Business Management and Journalism (Kumasi),
- University College of Management Studies (Accra and Kumasi),
- African University College of Communication (AUCC),
- Radford University,
- Wisconsin University,
- University of Professional
- Studies, Accra (UPSA),
- Alliance Français,
- Zenith College, National Association of Film and Television,
- School of Social Work, among others.
According the Women’s Commissioner for GUPS, Ms. Belinda Apkene Deke, and this year’s Face of GUPS will be different from the previous ones. She said; “the event will be detached from ‘Congress’ (a committee of SRC executives who meet to elect new executives for GUPS) to ensure a fair representation of all schools under GUPS.”
Ms. Deke explained that, since GUPS comprises of professional Institutions, there is the need to educate students on the need to be professional in their various fields of study hence, the theme for this year’s pageant show is ‘Advancing Women Entrepreneurs: The Role of The Professional Woman.’
Face of GUPS 2015, Miss Shemima Dapilla is currently undertaking a Civic Education Campaign Project to educate students on the need to ensure peaceful elections as responsible citizens. So far, she has visited institutions such as St. Thomas Aquinas and Unity International.
The show promises to be a spectacular one with performances from top-notch celebrated Ghanaian artistes.
Contestants stand a chance to win amazing prizes from sponsors while the ultimate winner walks away with a modeling contract with Breeze Modeling Agency, a cash prize and bragging rights as Face of GUPS 2016.
The event will be held at Zenith College in Accra at 7:30pm.
