Below is a short profile written by the 2016 Miss Tourism Ghana, Geraldine Atta Appor.

I am19 years of age and a student of the University of Ghana, Legon. A second year undergraduate students pursing a degree in Family and Consumer Science. It is mostly related to families, children and the community at large and it emphasizes on improving family relations and lifestyle.

I attended Mfantsiman Girls’ Senior High School and was the assistant compound prefect there. We prided in sanitation and environmental cleanliness.I was also the assistant captain of the basketball team during my time.

This gave me the opportunity to enjoy my favorite hobbies which are basketball and tourism, where we visited various schools and had the opportunity of mixing with the other students and knowing their cultures.

My primary and junior high school education was at Queensland International School which gave me better exposure in the tourism sector in the sense that we used to visit tourist sites at least every quarter.

My aim as the tourism ambassador is to expose the beautiful people of Ghana to our rich culture across board ,exposing our youth especially to the rich tourism potential of our country and also sell Ghana to the world not forgetting the relevant issue of sanitation.
