Why skipping a meal is not weight loss

Starvation have repeatedly been said not to be weight loss, Starving would only lead to more damage than good. From the days in school, it was taught that our body needs a certain amount of nutrient daily, depriving your body from this nutrients will only cause harm. Starvation can lead to;

1. Weak immune: A good immune system leads to a healthy condition. Your immune system is what fight against diseases, and this is only possible with the input of food. When there is no sufficient supply of food to the body, the immune gets weak.

2. Muscle Loss: Starving yourself can make your body act on its own, by using stored fat as a means to giving you energy. This could affect the body, hence leading in muscle loss.

3. Decreased Energy: Our body needs the right amount of energy to function daily. Not eating can make you slow in your productivity and output at activities.

4. Malnutrition: You need food to feel nourished, not giving your body the required nutrients or starving could make you malnourished, which could lead to other health issues, if not properly handled.
