Nigerian bespoke designer Mai Atafo has been named fashion designer of the year in the whole of West Africa at the 2016 edition of the Abryanz Style & Fashion Awards (ASFAs)”.
The prestigious awards ceremony under the theme “Dress to Inspire” held on Friday evening at the Kampala Serena Hotel was by far the biggest fashion event to ever take place in Uganda.
There were music performances from fast-rising Ugandan singer, Ceaserous, Kenyan diva Avril and singer Runtown from Nigeria.
Among the people that attended the event were BBA Hotshots winner, Idris Sultan (the host), socialites Judith Heard, Bad Black’s ex-lover David Greenhalgh and his wife Miss Parker Dee, Herbert Shonga and his newly wedded wife Dorothy, Singers Bebe Cool and his wife Zuena Kirema, Jose Chameleone, Desire Luzinda, Voltage Music singers Kent and Flosso, fashionista Kim Swagga to mention but a few.
