Spokesperson for the Ayew Family, Fiifi Tackie has refuted claims that the Ghana Deputy skipper has severally been reaching President John Mahama on phone to register complaints and making demands for the Black Stars.
The Swansea City attacker is rumoured to have been calling Ghana’s president to make demands on behalf of the Black Stars team, an allegation Ayew’s camp has rubbished.
The Ayews are believed to have a decent relationship with HE John Mahama, following the president’s intervention in the duos return to the Black Stars after their premature retirement from the team in 2013.
Andre Ayew was recently alleged to have called the president asking for the team to be flown to Mauritius via a chartered flight, when travel plans for the AFCON qualifier in Port Louis appeared have delayed.
The 26 year old, whiles acting as the deputy skipper in the absence of Asamoah Gyan, is reported to have requested the team be moved from their Alisa Hotel base to the plush Movenpick hotel. He is also fingered to have led a meeting of some key players to the president to address the contentious winning bonus saga.
But in an interview with Atinka FM, Spokesperson of the Ayews, Fii Tackie denied the reports, describing them as “wild and unsubstantiated”.
“I don;t know where these stories emanate from and I don’t know who circulates them”, Tackie told Atinka FM
“I can state on authority that Dede [Ayew] has did no speak to the president to demand anything from him and has not been calling to make any complaints because mind you he is a professional player”,
“If you want to authenticate whther or not there has been such meeting, I think the best person to speak to is Omane Boamah (President’s spokesperson), because he will be in a better position to tell you the truth of the matter”.
