If the FIFA ranking are put into consideration, Ghana could find herself in pot 3 of the qualifiers.
The Black Stars are ranking 30th in the world which means they could be drawn in the same pot as Egypt (57), Mali (63), Uganda (68), Ghana (60) and Zambia (71).
Pot one will include the top five teams: Cote d’Ivoire (22), Algeria (26), Cape Verde (32) and Senegal (39).
Pot two will include the next five teams: Tunisia (41), Cameroon (51), Congo Brazzaville (52), Guinea (53) and DR Congo (55). Pot four will then include: Gabon (73), South Africa (75), Morocco (79), Burkina Faso (93) and Libya (113).
Ghana Black Stars will now be included in the group phase of the qualifiers which includes five groups of four teams each with the overall group winners qualifying for the World Cup in Russia in 2018.
