The National Accreditation Board (NAB), has lifted the ban that prevented Jayee University College (JUC) from admitting fresh students to pursue degree programmes at the institution.
The university’s diploma programmes were however not affected by the ban from NAB last year which made it possible for potential students to pursue diploma courses at the school without hindrances.
The NAB, in April last year, ordered JUC to halt admission of fresh students to various degree programmes. The order by NAB was as a result of an audit inspection conducted by the board at the university which established that the school has flouted some of the requirements for remaining its degree courses accredited.
The Vice President of the institution, Mr Stephen Nibebale Bemile, who hinted the Daily Express in Accra, said the ban was lifted based on improved quality assurance test the institution has delivered.
He added that the lifting of the ban meant that JUC could now go ahead and advertise to admit new students for its degree programmes.
“The NAB lifted the ban imposed on the university’s degree courses because the council and management of the school had addressed the various issues that prompted the ban last year” the Vice President said.
Mr. Nibebale Bemile stated that the university is now scheduled to admit fresh students to it summer school and it will also offer admission to potential students for the 2016/2017 academic year.
Commenting on the academic faculties at the school, the Vice President said the institution has two faculties thus, the Faculty of Communication Science and the Faculty of Business Administration.
Mr. Nibebale Bemile said the faculty of Communication Science has the department of Public Relations and Journalism whiles the faculty of Business Administration offers Marketing, Accounting and Secretaryship and Management options.
He further disclosed that the university has initiated a non-tertiary program thus Diploma in General Studies where students who have deficiency in their Senior High School grades would be enrolled in order for them to better their grades before they will be enrolled to pursue both diploma and degree programmes at the university.
