The White House, the official residence of US President Barack Obama, is in lockdown after what sounded like gunshots, US television and media said.Reuters reported that Obama was playing golf at Andrews Air Force base and was not in the White House.
CNN news reported a man “brandishing a weapon” approached a security checkpoint” at the White House and the suspect was “shot in the abdomen” by security officers. The man was taken into custody and brought to a nearby hospital.
It was not clear if the man is acting alone or he is part of a plot to attack the White House.
