Official: EC will not extend registration

The Electoral Commission (EC) has definitely led out any opportunity of spreading the limited registration exercise for pupils as the demand from university students for an extra time ends today, Thursday May 12, 2016.

According to the reports, there have been demands by some famous groups and persons to the EC to renew registration in the republic’s tertiary organizations following its incapability to register qualified students due to insufficient centres.

The CODEO and Peace Council have all demand out appeals to the EC to review its position. But Head of Management at the Electoral Commission Christian in an interview with the media has said that the EC will not prolong the exercise.

According the reports, the commission’s position is that there will not be an addition of the limited voter registration exercise. If there are any persons who be eligible but have yet not been able to register, they can take benefit of the continuous voters’ registration facility that the commission would go on board on in the near future, He expressed.
