In the wake of a prophecy that Ghana will be hit by a terrorist attack this week, the police have come out to assure the public to remain calm.

A statement issued by the Ghana Police Service on Monday, April 11 urged “the general public to remain calm in the wake of terrorist attack prophesy by the founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, Prophet T.B. Joshua”.

Televangelist Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua revealed to his congregation on Sunday, April 10 that Ghana or Nigeria would suffer a “foreign attack” if prayers are not said for the two countries.

In a swift reaction, the Ghana Police Service says it has put in place adequate measures to forestall any terrorist attacks.

“All the requisite operational strategies, including intelligence gathering and tactical deployment of personnel have been unfolded to nib any breach of the peace in the bud,” the statement said.

It asked the public to offer its cooperation in the common fight, imploring all and sundry to bear with any inconveniences that the police’s operations may cause.

“Meanwhile, members of the public are also entreated to be vigilant, and report any suspicious parcels or items left at public places and other vantage points, or questionable characters to the Police for the necessary action.”
