Outgoing Central Regional Police Commander Introduces His Successor to Vice-Chancellor |
Receiving the visitors, Prof. Kuupole stated that the University would continue to partner the Police to fight crime both on campus and the surrounding communities. He noted that through the joint patrol by the Police and the University Security, the crime rate on campus has drastically reduced.
Explaining the purpose of the visit, Mr. Ninson said he has been transferred to the National Police Headquarters as the Director General in charge of Administration as part of the recent reshuffle in the Ghana Police Service. He indicated that the visit was therefore to introduce the new Regional Commander and also inform the Vice-Chancellor of his new designation.
Mr. Ninson commended UCC for establishing cordial relationship with the Regional Command. He noted that the Police continue to enhance their knowledge through admission of staff to pursue various programmes and also benefited from seminars, conferences and other educative programmes on campus.

Prof. Kuupole urged the new commander who has been transferred from the Eastern Region to help increase police presence on the University campus as well as the adjoining communities to deter criminals from engaging in their nefarious practice. He entreated him to build on the good legacies of his predecessor and also bring his rich experience to bear as the Central Regional Police Commander.
