The 37 year old was released from Nassau County jail on Thursday after bail was set at £66,117.
Newsday reported that Nassau District Attorney's Office declined to comment on details of the case including the age of the child and how the matter came to authorities' attention.
The name of his attorney was not immediately available.
Jelani recently made headlines along with his famous sister Nicki when he married long term girlfriend Jacqueline Robinson on August 22, 2015.
They wed at Coral House in Baldwin.
Nicki shared photos from the day, captioning one picture: "Jelani, I love u more than you’ll ever comprehend."
OK! Online reached out to Nassau District Attourney's Office but they declined to comment on the case.
