The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) has emerged winners of the HR 2016 Business Challenge contest after a grueling and a keenly contested competition.
The 2016 Business Challenge contest, which was part of a Career Development Session aimed at mentoring university students, took place during a Conference for Human Resource practitioners. The Conference was organised by L’AINE Services in collaboration with other international partners at the World Trade Centre.
The Conference equips students, jobseekers and young executives with the necessary tools for their career advancement.
The seven-member UPSA team from the Department of Business Administration demonstrated professionalism and teamwork as they convincingly expressed the feasibility of their business strategy during their competition. The team had the legitimacy from both the participating audience and the three independent judges and could not help but give UPSA thumps up as the winning team.
The winners were awarded with a demonstrative cash price, souvenirs from MTN, Surfline, and the Kharis Group, one year subscription to HR Magazine; supervised specialized internship program at UnileverGhana and Cal Bank with Ghc 400 monthly stipend for each of the presenters. They also received congratulatory message from their cohort competitors.
An independent body settled on three of the best Business Schools in Ghana, namely; University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), Ashesi University College and University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), to compete in the competition. The organizers presented the same on-the-spot business case scenario to the participants after which they were required to brainstorm, come up with a solution which they presented to a panel of three judges.
