Ho Technical University Held 2nd National Sanitation, Food Hygiene and Safety Conference

A two-day national conference on sanitation, food hygiene and safety was held at Ho Technical University from the 1st to 2nd September, 2016 under the theme: The status, current practices and policy options for enhancing sanitation, food hygiene and safety in Africa. The conference was organised by the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology in collaboration with Zoomlion Ghana Ltd.
Opening the Conference, the foundation Vice Chancellor of the Ho Technical University, Prof. E. K. Sakyi, averred that Ghana could not continue to manage its food resources following the traditional systems because a time will come when things will get out of hand and the country will not be able to find solutions. He therefore called on government agencies to partner academics in finding solutions to the problem.

Prof. Kwame Ameyaw Domfe from the University of Ghana Business School and Prof. Jimmy Takrama of the Cocoa Research Institute presented keynote addresses and also moderated and chaired the parallel sessions. In all, thirty-nine (39) academic and policy papers were received and presented.
