Nigeria’s Super Falcons will today lock horns with South Africa’s Bayana Bayana in Limbe for a place in Saturday’s final of the ongoing Africa Women Cup of Nation in Cameroun.

The Coach Florence Omagbemi’s side is tipped to overcome their South African counterparts to reach their ninth final of the ten editions of the tournament staged.

The reigning African champions had defeated Mali 6-0 before earning a 1-1 draw against Ghana in their two opening matches before Saturday’s 4-0 victory against the Harambee Starlets to finish atop in Group B.

NFF Technical Committee chairman Chris Green is expected alongside the NFF president Amaju Pinnick to be at the Limbe Omnisport Stadium for today’s clash which kicks off 7pm Nigerian time.

It remained to be seen whether the team had gotten the $4,000 per head winning bonus and $2,000 as bonus for a draw as promised by the NFF before the match.

Speaking to Daily Trust yesterday ahead of today’s match, sports blogger and football writer Wole Akinyemi said though he tips the Nigerians to come out of today’s tie unscathed, Omagbemi has an arduous task of propelling the team to victory against either the Black Queens of Ghana or tournament hosts Cameroun.

“Everyone expects Nigeria to win tomorrow (today) and the reasons are obvious, the South Africa’s defence wouldn’t be able to withstand our ferocious attacking line up which has Asisat Oshoala and Desire Oparanozie.”

On the final, he expects Ghana to be extra motivated considering the rivalry between the two nations while Cameroun as the host have the crowd behind them and will desire a first AWCON trophy in front of their fans.

“Well, I will personally prefer a Ghana/ Nigeria final due to the footballing rivalry but Cameroun will also be a tough game due to the crowd behind the home team,” he concluded.
