Friends of Ho Poly from USA paid visit

A group of Americans who are on missionary tour of the Volta region paid a working visit to the Polytechnic to ascertain the level of development of the Polytechnic.

The group was led by Rev. Patrick W. Morris who happened to be a social brother of Ms. Judith Agboka, a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management and immediate past Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology.

The group was taken round workshops, laboratories, the Nunyah Library and other facilities of the Polytechnic. They were later hosted by Management and a cross section of staff in the F.O. Kwami Council Chamber to discuss areas of support. In his welcome statement, the Rector, Prof. Sakyi, appealed for support from the group for brilliant but needy students of the Polytechnic since that falls perfectly under their missionary works. He further appealed the group could use the Polytechnic as an interface to distribute teaching and learning materials to deprived communities which he believed will reduce the difficulties that they may face handling it by themselves.

They group was full of praise to the Polytechnic at the end of the meeting. It was agreed that further communication was needed to operationalize all the issues raised by the Rector.
