Ho Polytechnic host Universite de Lome English Club Students

As part of its mission to open its doors to the continent and the world as a whole, Ho Polytechnic hosted students of the English Club of the Universite de Lome for a one week immersion programme. In all 19 students took part in the programme with active participation of 30 students from Ho Polytechnic. 

The Vice Rector in his address to the team commended them for selecting Ho Polytechnic for their immersion programme. He stated that the institution is about to start a new programme in functional French and with time all graduates of Ho Polytechnic would be expected to be bilingual. 

 He stated that Ho Polytechnic is in the process of reaching out to the sub region to encourage students from sister countries to come and attend school as such their visit will go a long way to strengthen the bond between the Universite de Lome and Ho Polytechnic.

He reiterated the importance of French to the Ghanaian students and the benefits of being a bilingual in today’s challenging market. In his submission the President of the club Mr. Bamba expressed their gratitude to the Management of Ho Polytechnic and the students for their warm reception and the time they devoted to see to the success of their visit.

As part of the visit, lecture sessions were held and social trips were undertaken. In the lecture session topics covered include the importance of English in International Relations, Flexibility of English Language, the Concept of African time and Leadership.

Social events undertaken include trip to Adaklu Mountain, visit to sister tertiary institution (UHAS), trip to Akosombo, debates session, indoor games, sporting activities and an evening dinner.
