Greetings from the National Association of Nigerian students (Ghana chapter) , the largest international students organization in Ghana and the umbrella body of all the Nigerian students in tertiary institutions across Ghana.
In recent development in the ANC-GH, in an interview with the president, Moses owharo, on Hot FM Accra, and in the just concluded Presidential debate held at the commonwealth hall, university of Ghana, Legon. The president of the ANC, Mr. Moses Owharo made several claims and accusations ;
The leadership of NANS-Ghana deem it imperative to put publicly a disavowal to these claims to the benefit of all Nigerians and the students body at large. The claims are #frivolous and #unfounded.
Mr. MOSES OWHARO, THE SIGNED M.O.U BETWEEN UBA-Ghana and ANC-GH
The leadership of NANS-GH were made to realise by the management of UBA-GH that NANS-GH is already included as a party to an already signed M.O.U with Mr. Moses Owharo led ANC. This was made known to NANS-GH in one of the consultations with the bank management team on finding a way to resolve the banking challenges of Nigerian students in Ghana. This was a shock to us as we did not have any such record of agreement or understanding with the ANC led by Mr. Moses Owharo to carry out such neither did he see the consent of the NANS-GH leadership before such MOU was signed and were never part of any negotiations whatsoever. NANS-GH is an independent body .As such, must be privy to any contract except the body holds anyone out as its agent to sign contracts on her behalf.To the effect that the Said moses Owharo was not an agent of the NANS-GH, it would have been prudent enough that the leadership of NANS-GH's consent is was sought for before any such M.O.U is signed. As a matter of fact, we put a call through to the emeritus Presidents of this great association from 2014- till date, (Precisely Emeritus Presidents; Raphael Ogar {2014/2015} and Katagum Muhammed {2015/2016}they are NOT aware of such agreement or understanding, neither were they involved in any of the negotiations with the bank.
Yesterday, during the ANC presidential debate at the Commonwealth Hall of the University of Ghana, the current NANS-GH President asked a question about this, Instead of answering this question , Mr. Moses Owharo tongue lashed and insulted the leadership of NANS-GH particularly singling out the President Kayode Abubakar in his verbal attack and making several divisive statements and was applauded by his cohorts including an Emeritus Vice President of this association Moses Chibuike {2015/2016} (VIDEO EVIDENCE UPLOADED HEREWITH)
ALLEGATIONS MADE IN THE ATTACHED VIDEO BY Mr. MOSES OWHARO;
1) In his verbal attacks on the NANS-GH President Kayode Abubakar yesterday at the University of Ghana, ANC outgoing president Moses Owharo alleged that the immediate past Vice President of NANS-GH Chibuike Moses is a witness to such agreement/understanding. Interestingly, the President of NANS-GH for 2015/2016 term in person of Com. Katagum Muhammed (under which Chibuike Moses served as Vice President) has vehemently denied knowledge of such understanding.
It is also interesting to note that NANS-GH as the largest international students organization in Ghana is bigger than an individual. Any such "understanding" or agreement or consent must also involve the NANS-GH Executives and at least, notify the Senate of such contract. However, in this case, Emeritus Senate President Tosin Gbadebo under this same 2015/2016 leadership of NANS-GH where Chibuike Moses served was NOT aware of such.
It is also interesting to note that NANS-GH as the largest international students organization in Ghana is bigger than an individual. Any such "understanding" or agreement or consent must also involve the NANS-GH Executives and at least, notify the Senate of such contract. Emphatically, NANS-GH will hereby declare that we will NOT be a party to any agreement or understanding of any document we did not see, nor involved in the whole process leading to the signing of such.
Such documents remains void and not binding on us. We reserve the right of engagement with any organization or body and in this case, we will NOT be involved in such shady arrangements especially with a fraudulent individual like Mr. Moses Owharo.
2) "In this same attack yesterday at the presidential debate, Mr. Moses Owharo alleged that the NANS-GH leadership under President Kayode Abubakar has been invited severally to ANC events but refused to attend.";
We will like to state here categorically that Mr. Moses Owharo lied. We have never received any such invitation. As a matter of fact, we are publicly demanding that Mr. Moses Owharo upload on this page such INVITATION LETTER or SMS RECORD of such invitation and as well as the said EVENT in question, VENUE, TIME and PICTURES of the said event.
We will like to put it on record that the first correspondence we had with the ANC so far during our tenure was an invitation to Congress which was held in Kasoa on Wednesday 12th Of October which we were ably represented by the leadership of NANS-GH (President Kayode Abubakar and the Vice President Comforter Aliodi) the second was to attend the debate held at the University of Ghana yesterday where Mr. Owharo launched this attack on NANS-GH.
For the benefit of the well meaning Nigerians following this story, this leadership under President Kayode Abubakar was inaugurated in JULY 2016 and since then, we had no engagement with the ANC until the attendance of the Congress of the ANC two days ago.
Besides, during the SWEARING IN CEREMONY organised by the immediate past administration of Emeritus Katagum Muhammed held at the auditorium of the CHARTERED INSTITUTE OF BANKERS, East Legon, where Mr. Moses Owharo promised to pay for the venue (he offered to issue a cheque but was rejected by the hall manager) and as at today Friday/14th of October 2016, said debt has not been paid. THIS IS A STORY FOR ANOTHER DAY.
MR. MOSES OWHARO'S COMMENT ON HOT F.M RADIO ABOUT NANS-GH SYMPOSIUM.
This is another good opportunity to shed light on what transpired earlier in the year at EL-PLAZA HOTEL.
NANS-GH will like to put it on record that Mr. Moses Owharo in connivance with the emeritus NANS-GH Vice President Chibuike Moses lied and#deceived the NANS-GH senators to that hotel for the said program. We discovered Mr. Moses Owharo packaged that program for his own parochial interest using the ever vibrant NANS-GH platform, no thanks to the compromise of his accomplice Mr. Chibuike Moses who swore to protect the integrity of NANS-GH but sold it to Mr. Moses Owharo led ANC. In fact, but for the intervention of the Nigeria High Commissioner to Ghana- Mrs Adekunbi who gave the sum of GH¢1,000 to the NANS-GH senate president then (Com. Tosin Gbadebo, all the senators and their students would have been left stranded at the hotel as we had no money to return back to our respective schools despite the promise made to the NANS-GH senate and the trust the NANS-GH senate had in the emeritus vice president Chibuike. )This experience was most painful and disappointing., that the ANC President Moses Owharo who is up posed to ensure the welfare of Nigerian students subject them to such traumatic experience is absolutely unacceptable. On this note , the NANS-GH leadership has warned Mr. Owharo to desist dropping the symposium as part of his achievement at ANC. The motive behind the lobby for the program is dubious and fraudulent. This same Owharo led ANC was alleged to have demanded for the sum of GH¢3,000 from the students of B.M.F.I to help them facilitate a legal assistance on their school's accreditation palava between BMFI management and the National Accreditation board of Ghana.
We need to also register our displeasure and disappointment in the person of an emeritus vice president of NANS-GH Chibuike Moses for his role in all these happenings, especially on his continued razzmatazz with Mr. Moses Owharo, we are disappointed that a stakeholder like Mr. Chibuike will be an accomplice with a morally bankrupt person like Mr. Owharo to publicly tonguelashed the current leadership of NANS-GH and tell lies and blackmailed the association thereby, attempting to create division among the students body .
At this junction, these actions and utterances of Mr. Moses Owharo who is suppose to be a unifier is rather highly #divisive, #disrespectful, and #ridiculous.
It is very sad and disheartening to us as youths that an individual like Mr. Moses Owharo is even aspiring to contest the presidency of a Community as large as All Nigeria Community - Ghana after a disastrous 3-years at the helm of affairs of the community.
With this attack on us by Mr. Moses Owharo for asking a simple question, He has demonstrated that he lacks what it takes to unite Nigerians in Ghana, He lacks decorum , lacks the maturity, lacks the leadership qualities, lacks the personality, lacks the personal dignity and integrity and lack above all, has no pedigree to vie for such a sensitive position.
Mr. Moses Owharo lacks the coordination and moral capital to be the face of the All Nigeria Community- Ghana.
Enough of the division. Enough of the misrepresentation, enough of the lies, enough of the photograph paparazzis, enough of incompetence, enough of the immaturity, enough of the dubious moves and engagements.
Mr. Moses Owharo being a president of the Nigerian community for the last three years is an embarrassment to the nation Nigeria and a dent on Nigeria's image in Ghana.
The leadership of NANS-GH hereby demand a public apology within 48-hours for publicly insulting the person of the President of this great association and subjecting the integrity of this great association to question by telling cheap lies and blackmail about NANS-GH, otherwise, we will launch a #ShutDowncampaign against Mr. Moses Owharo across Ghana from now till election day on the 20th of October at the Nigeria High Commission, Accra , Ghana. NANS-Ghana will liaise with the NANS-Nigeria to #occupyMr. Moses Owharo's telephone and facebook walls.
This is an unacceptable attack on this great association, we will defend the integrity of NANS-GH and we will never be cowed or bullied by anybody.
We therefore call for solidarity from all Nigerian students community, emeritus, and stakeholders to join us in this push. Nobody is bigger that NANS-GH. We are NANSGhana.
