Kenyan Journalists Scoop African Journalist of the Year Award

Asha Ahmed Mwilu and Rashid Idi of Kenya were recently voted the CNN MultiChoice African Journalist for 2016 at an awards ceremony in South Africa, where some Ugandan reporters were also recognised.

The two journalists, whose story Terror Crossing won them one of Africa's top media awards, work for Kenyan Television Network.

The story was an investigation into the security situation at the Kenya-Somali border in Mandera county, a flashpoint in the war against the Al-Shabaab.
