One of University of Ghana’s foremost interdenominational churches, Legon Pentecostals Union (LPU), is 40 years old.

The anniversary celebrations dubbed “40 Years of LPU- Ebenezer” is going to be a gathering of generations who have passed through the church on Legon campus within the last four decades.

LPU started as a group of fire-branded, young Christians and has grown over the years. It has served as the nurturing ground of many notable figures in society today in fields like media, banking, religion and even entertainment. A line-up of events will characterize this week-long celebration.

On this Saturday, 22nd October, 2016, there’s going to be a brass band procession through designated streets and places on Legon campus at 7am. This will be followed by games between alumni and students.

On Wednesday and Thursday, 26th and 27th October, 2016, there will be the Ultimate Talk Show Parts 1 and 2 respectively. This is going to be a romantic discussion about campus-based relationships. Venue is the SRC Union Building each day.

The union will hold its awards/dinner night at Christ The King Parish Hall on Friday, 28th October, 2016. Jubilation (a musical concert) follows on Saturday, 29th October, 2016.

The climax of the celebrations will take place on Sunday, 30th October, 2016 at Central Cafeteria on University of Ghana campus. Guest speaker is Apostle Joseph Assabil. Time is 3pm.
