Mr. Frank Annoh Dompreh, Member of Parliament (MP) for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, has donated 50 bags of cement and GH¢10,000 as his contribution towards the construction of a school block in the area.

He said education had been his prime focus, and therefore, called on the chiefs in the constituency to offer land for school infrastructure.

Mr. Annoh Dompreh made the donation at a durbar to celebrate the Odwira Festival by the chiefs and people of Ahodwo, near Nsawam, in the Eastern Region.

He said the gesture was in fulfillment of a pledge he made earlier when he donated 100 bags of cement for the start of the project.

The school structure, which would alleviate the plight of children who travel far to access education, comprises one storey building, a library, teachers’ common rooms and washroom facilities.

The MP promised to donate additional 200 bags of cement in support of the infrastructure before the end of this year.

Nana Opare Amankwah II, Chief of Ahodwo, commended the MP for the assistance and called on benevolent organisations to lend their support towards the project.

Nana Amankwah also appealed to the government for the provision of pipe-borne water, streetlights, and places of convenience in view of the rapid expansion and population growth of Ahodwo and its environs.
