GIJ Places 3rd at the Model Democracy Debate

Two representatives from the GIJ Writers and debators society, Kabu Nartey and Jean- Philip Lawson, led the school to place third at the just ended Model Democracy debate held at the British Council in Accra.

The debate programme which was organized by the Edufair Ghana foundation under the topic, “Winner takes all vrs Proportional representation”, saw six schools competing for 3000 Ghana cedis cash for the first place and 2000 Ghana cedis prize for second place. Participating schools included Lancaster University, University of Professional Studies, Zenith University College, University of Ghana, Ashesi University, and the Ghana Institute of Journalism.

At the end of the debate, Ashesi University took home the first prize while University of Ghana placed second respectively. Kudos to the team.
