The United States and United Kingdom have condemned the violence that occurred in the home of the presidential candidate of the NPP, Nana Akufo-Addo and have threatened to revoke the visas of political leaders who incite violence ahead of the December 11 presidential election in Ghana.
An altercation between supporters of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and main opposition, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has again raised concerns over the peaceful conduct of the 2016 ballot in the country.
Supporters of the ruling NDC and main rival clashed this week within the residence of the presidential candidate of the NPP, Nana Akufo-Addo, when a health walk organized by the NDC degenerated into a skirmish between the factions.
The Greater Accra Regional Police Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Mr. Timothy Bonga said the police was investigating the matter in order to unravel what actually happened.
The United States and United Kingdom foreign missions in Ghana have condemned the attack and threatened to take stringent measures against politicians, who incite their supporters to cause mayhem.
