The Valley View University acknowledges the fact that, the signs of the end time are something that all look for to find out how close we are to the second coming of Christ Jesus. Even many non believers are looking into this issue now, which shows that there are significant changes going on in our world today. Many people are wondering what is happening with all these disasters, wars, worldwide economic woes, deaths and a general degradation in society. But the Bible has the answer. They are the signs that show the end of the world as we know it, is close.
For this reason, Valley View University therefore does not only encourage students and staff to study and work to attain academic excellence. It also promotes the spiritual growth of its members. It is for this reason that the University has set up in every semester, a week spiritually filled presentation to prepare both students and staff to grow in their walk with the Lord. The programme is also for people who are willing to know Christ either for the first time, or to renew their old relationship with Him.

According to the Zone Pastor of Valley View University, Pastor Samuel Dorgbetor, the Week of Spiritual Emphasis is to create spiritual awareness, revive the university community spiritually, and win more souls for Christ. Since the inception of the programme, more than thousand (1000) souls have been won for Christ. And have seen great men of God who have allowed themselves to be used like: renowned Seventh-Day Adventist Church evangelist, Pastor Dr Andrews Lawrence Ewoo; the President of the West–Central Africa Division, Elie D. Weick-Dido; the Director for Education of the West–Central Africa Division, Prof. Chiemela N. Ikonne; the Director for Chaplaincy of the Southern Ghana Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventsit Church, Major Peter Nyako Duodu; and the former Director of the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration of University of Cape Coast, Prof. Yaw Afari Ankomah.

Pastor Dorgbetor adds that this semester’s theme, “Preparation for the Final Crisis” was chosen to meet the current crisis the world is in. It is to prepare all to be aware of Christ’s coming and the things that will precede His coming. It is also to promote and prepare the minds of all to be aware that, as the world comes to an end, our only hope and help is Christ.

The presentation which was led by the President of the South–East Ghana Administrative Unit of the Seventh-day Adventist church, Pastor Dr Oheneba Odei Agyei, was preceded by hymns night, then fasting and prayers in all the six (6) churches in the university community, and then ended with baptism for those who were prepared to give their lives to Christ. Pastor Dr Oheneba Odei Agei in his last presentation called all to lean on Christ in order to be able to prepare fully for the final crisis. He added that, in order for any Christian to overcome the world’s spiritual warfare, one has to look unto Christ and nothing else. In all, fifteen (15) souls: thirteen (13) students and two (2) members gave their lives to Christ through baptism.
